How Terrabit pricing works

Enrollment fee + success fee

Per-acre enrollment fee

Covers baseline sampling, satellite monitoring, and annual verification costs

$3–5/acre/yr

Success fee on credit revenue

Paid only when credits sell. Aligns Terrabit's incentives with grower outcomes.

12% of gross revenue

Minimum enrollment

Smaller operations can participate through cooperative aggregation programs

200 acres

Contract period

Required for MRV protocol compliance and meaningful SOC accumulation

3 years

Example: 1,200-acre farm

Enrollment fee (at $4/acre) $4,800/yr
Annual credits (340 tCO₂e) 340 tCO₂e
Revenue at $25/tonne $8,500
Terrabit success fee (12%) −$1,020
Net grower revenue ~$2,680/yr

Carbon prices shown are illustrative. Actual revenue depends on market conditions. Terrabit does not guarantee credit prices or sale timing.

This model is market-standard for MRV service providers. No upfront science cost to the grower beyond the enrollment fee. The success fee creates direct alignment between Terrabit's revenue and the grower's carbon income.

Pricing questions

Credits are listed on the applicable registry (Verra, Gold Standard, or CAR) under your grower account and can be sold directly to corporate buyers, through broker-dealers, or through voluntary carbon market platforms. Terrabit assists with initial buyer introductions but does not act as a broker. Typical time from issuance to first sale: 3–9 months, depending on market conditions and buyer matching.
Terrabit handles all registry account setup, project registration, and credit issuance documentation as part of the enrollment program. Growers do not need prior registry experience or accounts. The registry account is established in your name, and you retain ownership of all issued credits.
The per-acre enrollment fee is charged regardless of credit sales — it covers the fixed cost of measurement and verification services, which are performed whether or not credits sell. Unsold credits accumulate in your registry account and remain available for future sale. The success fee is only charged when credits are sold, so Terrabit's variable income is entirely dependent on your revenue.
The enrollment fee is charged annually at the start of each contract year. Revenue from credit sales is paid to you within 30 days of sale confirmation, net of the Terrabit success fee. You receive an itemized statement for each sale showing credits sold, price, gross revenue, and net revenue after fee deduction.
Corporate buyers purchase credits at the market price on the applicable registry, plus a due diligence documentation fee of $250 for the complete credit package documentation (baseline report, monitoring data, methodology disclosure, and chain-of-custody records). Terrabit does not charge buyers for ESG team calls or initial due diligence support — those are included with any credit package purchase.
