Small team. Deep roots in ag data.

Four people: two co-founders who started this from a precision ag consulting problem, a Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) who keeps the nitrogen rate logic grounded in real agronomic judgment, and a backend engineer who keeps the Sentinel-2 raster ingestion pipeline from falling over on cloud-heavy weeks. Soilynx is not a research team and does not have a sales function — the people building the product are the same people you talk to.

Amara spent five years as a precision ag consultant in Iowa and Illinois before founding Soilynx. B.S. in Agricultural Systems Technology, Iowa State University. Two years writing data ingest pipelines for a farm management software company before going independent. She wrote Soilynx’s first zone-generation logic on a laptop in Poweshiek County in 2022, after watching a 4,800-acre corn grower’s crop adviser spend an afternoon with a ruler drawing variable-rate nitrogen zones on a yield map printout. The company was incorporated in Iowa City in 2023.

Cole Reinhardt, Co-Founder and CTO of Soilynx

Cole built geospatial data ingestion pipelines at a satellite imagery analytics company for four years before co-founding Soilynx. M.S. in Geographic Information Science, University of Iowa. He designed the Sentinel-2 and Landsat ingest pipeline, the cloud-masking logic using the ESA Scene Classification Layer, and the co-registration method that aligns satellite raster bands with in-field sensor point locations at 10-meter resolution. The zone model runs on infrastructure he built.

Priya Sundaram, Lead Agronomist at Soilynx

Certified Crop Adviser (CCA). Six years as a field agronomist for an Iowa grain co-op, writing nitrogen and phosphorus recommendations for corn and soybean operations across eastern Iowa before joining Soilynx. Her agronomic judgment defines the zone model’s output rules: what CEC and organic matter thresholds trigger a rate change between zones, when a satellite red-edge reading is sufficient to set a nitrogen prescription, and when sensor VWC data must confirm before a file exports. She is the agronomic check on every prescription Soilynx generates.

Marcus Webb, Backend Engineer at Soilynx

Backend Engineer

Marcus specializes in geospatial data processing and cloud-native raster storage. He built satellite data ingestion pipelines at a previous geospatial analytics company before joining Soilynx. At Soilynx, he is responsible for the infrastructure that ingests Sentinel-2 and Landsat scenes, reprojects them to WGS84 UTM, generates Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFFs for each field boundary, and delivers band-computed rasters to the zone model on the weekly processing cycle. Works remotely from Des Moines.

Two open roles

We’re looking for a remote agronomist with corn belt field experience and a backend engineer comfortable with geospatial data. Small team, real problems, no BS.

Remote Agronomist

CCA preferred. Corn belt production experience required. You’d work directly with Priya on the zone model logic and on grower onboarding for new accounts in Illinois and Nebraska.

Backend Engineer (Geospatial)

Experience with GDAL, rasterio, and cloud-native geospatial formats (COG, GeoParquet). Iowa preferred but remote negotiable. You’d work with Marcus on the raster processing pipeline.
